Thanks Mark, I enjoyed that. All of Tolkien's books have featured large in our house and reading them to our kids was one of the most memorable parts of their early education. As we were secular at the time, those stories played a role in providing some exposure to spiritual themes, even if they are couched in "fantasy". It made me very happy to realize, just recently, how explicitly Catholic Tolkien's work was. A seed was planted, perhaps.
